Monsters in Taiwan- Jin-Mei (金魅)

According to the story, "Jin-Mei" was a ferocious ghost who was a female slave beaten up to death.  Strangely, she kept working for her heartless hostess in diligent and careful. As for her "salary", once a year, the hostess gave her a human to eat. Because it was a good deal, many people had summoned her to work for them in a period of time.

It is said that once upon a time, there was a female slave named "Jin-Chou", a loyal, diligent and obedient maid. Unfortunately, the hostess was a cruel and brutal woman, therefore, she always found some trifle reasons to punish her. One day, the hostess accidentally beat her to death, but killing one's own slave was legal then, as a result, the hostess just buried her and then planned to buy another slave. However, without the slave, the house was still in order. Amazed by this, the hostess thought that it must be the ghost of Jin-Chou still stayed in the house and wanted to work like before. After a month, the hostess bought another slave, letting her live in Jin-Chou's room, But the next morning, the slave girl didn't show up. Doubted, the hostess entered the room but only found some hair on the floor. Frightened, the hostess prayed to Jin-Chou, "If you still work for me like before, I will worship you, and give you a man to eat once a year. However, you must not cause trouble for my family." The ghost of Jin-Chou agreed. Afterward, more and more people heard about this and imitating the behavior.
